As of 2017, Challah for Hunger chapters have raised and donated more than $1 million to fight hunger globally and locally.
Every chapter donates 50% of proceeds from challah sales to our national philanthropic partner. Our current partner is MAZON: A Jewish Response to Hunger, an international nonprofit working to end hunger among people of all faiths and backgrounds in the U.S and abroad.
Chapters also choose a local hunger-relief nonprofit to donate the other 50% of proceeds from challah sales. Chapter often choose organizations like food pantries and centers that provide emergency food assistance. The map below includes just some of the organizations chapters support.
Additionally, chapters support Challah for Hunger’s growing network by contributing to the Chapter Investment Fund.
