In order to fulfill our mission of bringing people together to bake and sell challah in effort to raise funds and awareness for social justice causes, Challah for Hunger updates its giving guidelines to: Give Globally, Give Locally.
Give Globally: Together we are working to fight hunger. Chapters donate half the proceeds to support national or global organizations fighting hunger. We are proud to partner with MAZON: A Jewish Response to Hunger to raise funds for hunger relief, advocate for those in need, and educate our volunteers about hunger.
Give Locally: Each chapter works to make a difference in its local community. Chapters donate half the proceeds to a local organization making a big impact in the community.
Squirrel Hill Community Food Pantry (Pittsburgh, PA)
Food Forward (Los Angeles, CA)
Jewish Relief Agency (Philadelphia, PA)
DC Central Kitchen (Washington D.C.)
Additionally, chapters support the Challah for Hunger network by contributing to the Chapter Investment Fund.
